On her father’s side, Monica’s father immigrated to the United States from Iran on a student visa. He later married Monica’s mother and adjusted his status to become a lawful permanent resident. He eventually became a U.S. citizen and helped bring his parents and siblings to the United States, reuniting their family and creating new opportunities for generations to come.
On her mother’s side, Monica’s grandfather immigrated to the United States from Mexico. Through hard work, determination, and an unwavering belief in the American Dream, he built his own construction business and raised six children. His journey represents the resilience and entrepreneurial spirit that so many immigrants bring to the United States—arriving with hope, working to build something of their own, and creating a better future for their families.
These stories are not simply part of Monica’s family history. They are part of what shaped her.
As a first-generation American on her father’s side and the granddaughter of a Mexican immigrant on her mother’s side, Monica understands that immigration is about much more than obtaining a visa or completing a form. It is about family, sacrifice, opportunity, belonging, and the hope for a better future.
Interestingly, Monica’s name reflects the qualities she strives to bring to her practice. “Monica” is associated with the meaning “counselor,” while “Kazemi” is associated with patience.
